I'm looking to purchase 4 of the following tweeters after seeing some positive comments on another thread but I have a few queries. How would 4 of these be wired in the same box as they are 8 ohm, would I be best splitting them over two channels so 2 separate 4 ohm loads in the same box or a series/parallel combination to keep the impedance up and just use a single amp channel? Also they say 150w rms would they really handle this as most other tweeters seem to be around half the power?

300w 150w forget that

maybe 50/60 watt at best

wire the 4 in series/parallel = 8 ohm

Two ways of doing this. You can wire each pair in parallel and then run a wire from the neg of one and connect it to the pos of the other or you can wire each pair in series and then parallel each pair up. This all terminates on a single Speakon, so no need to think of separate channels just to accommodate your wiring configuration.
Not sure about the power handling claim, as I don't have any experience with them. Cheaper tweeters always appear to handle more power than expensive ones.

With 3" voice coil that 150W is not impossible, although i would treat it as program power and half of that, 75W, would be the RMS power.

imho opinion theres no rite or wrong how you wire them, depending on how many amps you have ect so you have a spare channel if you wire them series/parallel from one channel..8ohm load

to my understanding isnt series/parallel the Efficiency will be reduced , but can be made up with the amplifier you are using by increasing the level on your amplifier.

having all the tweeters wired parallel will give you the most efficiency but be carefull with your power...

in your case i propley would go with series/parallel wiring

good bullets too sound nice n crisp...got a few myself , i like them nice! for the price! cant bet them

Cheers for the quick replies, I guessed the power handling might be a bit over estimated . Think I'm going to take a chance on four of them and see how it goes.

Why don't you buy one and try it first. I would never buy more than one without listening to it first

Good point there better off trying the one than going for the full whack straight away. As for xover points I'm not too sure yet was planning to have a play and see where they sound best with my comps but I imagine somewhere around the 6k mark, unless you have any suggestions?

You would have to hear them first

8-12k would be a starting point if you already have 1'' comps
