The manufacturer states 107db and I don't think they're far off that, had another listen to mine yesterday and had to pull the eq I had added back a touch as there was too much 'sizzle' on some tracks, unfortunately I'm not sure what sensitivity my comps are but I would have thought two bullets per comp would keep up with most 2" comps.

My personal favorite are Beyma CP22 or these of your on a tight budget:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/33359-Professional-Heavy-Duty-Titanium-Bullet-Tweeter-Speaker-300-W-8-ohm-18-Oz-/271040890280?pt=UK_ConElec_SpeakersPASystems_RL&hash=item3f1b4bc5a8 or the black version: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/33358-Professional-Heavy-Duty-Titanium-Bullet-Tweeter-Speaker-300-W-8-ohm-18-Oz-/271040890310?pt=UK_ConElec_SpeakersPASystems_RL&hash=item3f1b4bc5c6 The diaphragm is about the same for these as the APT50 driver to replace: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/33592-Dome-Replacement-Diaphragm-for-33358-33359-Bullet-Tweeter-Speaker-/271040890136?pt=UK_MusicalInstruments_Other_Pro_Audio_Equipment&hash=item3f1b4bc518 Eminence APT80's ain't bad for compact bullets though. |

Whilst on the subject of bullets, I have some alnico JBL 2402 that i'm adding to my martin rig and 2 need new diaphragms. Original JBL ones seem hard to come by? how do the cheaper alternatives sound? is there really that much difference in sound?
Cheers Jim

May need different thread for this, there are many "aftermarket" JBL bullet/Comp replacement diaphragms, with no not much feedback based on actual testing, as opposed to opinion. |

That's what I thought, after extensive searching there seems to be little to no feedback on after-market diaphragms... take a punt I guess as they are cheap enough! If they were really that bad, i'm sure there would be a thread somewhere detailing just that..
First hand experience appreciated of course ![]() |

Certainly on the comps a non-original diaphragm mean it doesnt sound like a JBL. Because its not JBL. However, with your bullets crossed up way high, would you be able to tell?

Well just to update so no-one else wastes money like I have!
The P-Audio replacement diaphragms are awful in comparison. The original JBL has far more detail going on, can clearly hear everything in its stated frequecy spectrum. I was running 6.3k - out, sounded fantastic ![]() The P-Audio however only seemed to give output above 10k...! not so good if using them from 6k! Lots missing and had a lower output overall. any one want some P-audio diaphragms? only used for 10 mins..

when you make cabs for bullet tweeters, do you angle them according to their dispersion angle?

Here is an unusual bit of trivia regarding the old JBL 075 (2402) tweeter.......
Some decades ago the 075 tweeter was used in tandem to monitor automobile traffic volume and speed in what would be considered acoustic radar. The tweeters were mounted above traffic with one transmitting, the other as a receiving, picking up the signal bounced off the roof of cars. They were also deployed at railroad crossings, which a few have shown up on Ebay, and those are painted green. |
