Hi all
Looking at temporary budget bass amp options
Till we can get some nice amps ... ..
I know a tamp 2400 will just about give enough for my use at a push but I could easily use a pro line
That's what I'll upgrade to
Would a cmark mr3000 do a better job than the tamp 2400?
Its to run challenger mk1 loaded 186 horns approx 40-140hz 2per channel when I upgrade to pro line or better still some smps class d modern stuff this will be monitor/spare so not wasted there lol
Any good compared with ta2400?

If you seriously look around, you could find Crown MA5000VZ or Crown XLS5002 for £500.. Thumbs Up

They will drive 2x PD186 per channel no problem..

Whether or not, PD186 will last long, in 186 Horn, down to 40hz, is another question.. Embarrassed

Citronic Ultima Pro 3200 is another unsung hero, proven to drive 2x PD1850 per channel on the cheap.

Crown Macrotech MA3600VZ (can be had for £450), can be suprising on 2x subs per side, but you absolutely, must use external limiter/compressor before it, or else...

Those Macrotechs are cheap because of most companies got rid of them.

It has a nasty habit that even minimal mains drop the output start to be clipped, weird distortion occurs not only at the peaks. It was long ago but I still remember once the 220V dropped around 205V these killed some ~5 of our speakers in the low section.

OK..

Knew the MA3600VZ, could be a driver eater, also due to no default clip limiting, didn't know was so susceptible to power sag..

Does have a nice sound, when not eating drivers. LOL

Had a vz5 way back really didn't like it lol
Not using pd186 I'm using challenger 650el mk1
Were at nearly 8 cabs so 40/45hz cutoff should be ok
Only other choice atm is tamp 2400 or kam kd3000
Temporary until I can get some fp10,000q
Thanks again

T-AMP 2400 on 4 ohm sub, will self destruct sooner or later..

It is a cut down, bad copy of QSC RMX2450, and that thing has been known to thermal on 2x monitors per side.

What music? If it aint Dub or Dubstep use the TAmp, the quality control of the mk X version is way ahead of the CMark. If its constant sub sacrifice the CMark, and hope you don't DC :)

It's everything, not everythink!

Depending on budget, there's quite a few oldies that can do fair job.

2x Behringer Inuke 6000, 1x box per channel each, is very acceptable (from experience).
