Hi
Me and a mate are looking to build our first soundsystem primarily for Drum N Bass, Jungle, Tek and Neurofunk. We're thinking of having 2 Invaders on the bottom, 4 Hd15 and a simple mid top. However after a browse through the forums I've seen many discussions where people say to go for a folded horn over a scoop so have become a bit confused. Am fairly new to this so any helpful pointers are appreciated! |

Invaders are folded horns, and two of them won't be very satisfying. They need to be in a bigger stack to be effective.
From the genres you mention I think Hog Scoops would be a good option. They're called scoops but they're not exactly scoops, more of a tapped horn/scoop hybrid, and they perform well enough in small stacks. You could probably get away with two HD's above two Hogs, if you felt you needed more kick after that (or that the HD's weren't reaching low enough to cross comfortably to the Hogs) you could build another two, but in terms of sheer SPL output, two is enough.
