Why not build your own?
Plenty of help on here if you're up for it! |

Define 'compact'?
Cubo 15 or Tham 15 from the top of my head (if you are building your own)

The Cubo 15 will be louder than a reflex, I find they sound comparable to an 18" reflex, with lot's of punch but not kick. I've heard so many different opinions over the years, if I hadn't heard them myself, I wouldn't know what to believe ;)

I run 18" cubo subs (larger again than cubo18).They have twice the perceived output of a reflex sub and drop lower than most general purpose 18" reflex subs. I would say they're fairly flat to 40hz and very useable down to 35hz. Much more throw than reflex too. Obviously you save on amps if running cubos. Cannot complain about sound quality, I'm very happy with them for going on 3 years.
Shame that I can't find any indoor venues large/ suitable enough in my area to really test the four of them! If I was building another pair, I would get them CNC cut and assemble and finish myself. Cutting the panels out with a skill saw and a straight edge was very tedious, took all day!

35hz from a Cubo. Don't think Mr Cubo himself would claim that?
The ones I built tried XP to old Celestions, deffo no sub, which is why there is a Cubo Sub |
