In my experience all the p audio comps ive used have no top end or sparkle, theyre just loud

bmd740 seems to be the best value for money, clean(ish) & loud, doesn't go high

440/450 is horrible

If the passive x-over does not include any HF compensation then you will need to EQ the top end to give you the sparkle.
The BMD 450 is one of P.Audio's better comps imo. The B&C is a better option but not in the X15 it will not cross low enough.  Whilst sounding better than the P.Audio I do not  think it is chalk and cheese though.
