Hi All,
I just got an older Crest CA9 amp. Channel B is working fine, but I don't get any output from channel A. The clip and protect LEDs don't light up. The input LED from channel A lights up the same way as the one from channel B, so I assume it's not an input issue. Anybody had any similar issues? ![]() I also don't find the stereo/bridge switch on this amp. Is it this jumper? ![]() Many thanks! Nathan

It is that jumper as you cann see "bridge/stereo" written on the other side of the board. If 2 red lights aren't on for 2 seconds or so when powering up then there is a fault. I would suggest you power off, leave for 10 mins or so for caps to discharge, then unplug and reconnect all of the big white cable connectors. If you are handy with such things you can try swapping the 2 amp modules over and see if the fault follows. The modules are identical, and if you can trace the fault back to a faulty one then you may be able to just post the offending one off for service and save some quids. Where abouts are you? There are a couple of excellent service chaps on this forum.

Thanks for the reply! When I power the amp on, the red LEDs light up for appr. 2 seconds for channel A & B, then they go out. Will try to unplug and reconnect the cables!
I'm from Antwerp (Belgium)

Relay of channel A is burnt. When powered, you can feel a very weak click, I couldn't even hear anything. When I power the other one, you can hear the click very clear. Do I will look for a new relay and replace it with a new one!
![]() Thanks!

Looks like it had some DC across that relay under load!

Hi All,
Relay is removed from the output module, but I'm having trouble sourcing that relay. Anybody in Europe/Belgium knows where to order it? I only found webshops who solely sell to business... It's a potter brumfield k10p-11d55-24 relay. ![]() |
