If you have no intention of building another g-sub hs has a valid point. Why not build two seperate reflex subs and instead of buying the normal 8ohm version...get the 4ohm version and have all the head room of 2200w per cab. Yes it will be two cables as the subs will be seperated and EASIER to lift and move about!!!!!!

how can I connect both channel a and b to one NL4? I don't get that D:

Also I guess I just like it being in one, also my mate will probably build one later in the year anyway.

Most amps have on output that is wired to all four contacts using +1 -1 +2 -2 so if you just use that output with a 4 core speaker cable, you can connect both channels to a single cable and input at the speaker. Inside the speaker it will then be split to go to 2 different drivers or crossovers or whatever.

Ahh okay I see what you mean :)

So I'd use one of these?: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-Core-Neutrik-Speakon-Speaker-Cable-PA-Lead-4-x-2-5mm-NL4FX-Lifetime-Guarantee-/281796260803

And I'd just plug that into channel 1 on my amp and it would work?

There is likely a diagram or type on the back of the amp next to the speakon output that will confirm that it is using all four contacts. It usually is output a. The other one will only be connected to oupt put b in all likelihood. That speaker cable looks right.

Ah yes! there is a diagram saying channel 1 uses all four contacts. So this means that channel A and channel B gain knobs will both affect that output?

THERE!!!... if your mate builds one your gonna have to rewire your bins! i woulkd stick to either 4ohm drivers and seperate boxes or have a rethink in general.

Yes. As far as the amp is concerned, it is no different than having a 2 core cable off of each channel. Make sure the amp is set to stereo so that the channels are operating independently. -edit- if they are going to two separate identical speakers you could actually run it in parallel mode and then only use one input on the amp, but it does get to be annoying when you daisy chain to another unit. In that case I would just use 2 2 core wires and set it up standard. I did not read the whole thread, and was just answering the question of how to hook it up with one cable.

Brilliant! and just by merely plugging in the speakon 4 core cable, the amp will detect that?

Does anyone know what connectors these are on the PD 186? doesn't look like I can directly solder to that.
