At what frequency can I cross between E140 and 2446H in a reflex box. How low can I comfortably cross the 2446h? I know its not suitable using the E140 at midbass but its all I have right now. I will be running them active. DSP will be on the ultradrive. We will be using them live and some recorded music.

Depends on your horn, 1Khz should be OK.

What the hell are you talking about, the E140 was designed to be an instrument driver so it is also a perfect mid-bass PA driver.

Active would be way better and a lot easier to setup but at least you can tame the nastyness with the PEQ in the DCX.

Should work just fine.

+1

The E140 is a lovely driver. I had some stage monitors loaded with those and 2431 comps. No problem.

My bad, I will run them active instead of passive. Horns are 2385a. Thank you for all the responses.

Had a bunch of floor wedges with the E140, bi-amped them at 1.5Khz to a 1.4" throat Altec copy HF horn.

All the users really liked them.

With some notable exceptions, that statement is just straight-up wrong. The majority of instrument drivers are horrendous as PA drivers...

"The majority of instrument drivers are horrendous as PA drivers..."

Wrong in this instance, very fine below 1.5Khz, gets ratty about 3.5Khz.

I didn't realise the OP was talking about designing a Line Array... if your box needs that much EQ to be useable, you don't need DSP you need a chainsaw.
