Hello there,

it is really difference in sound between these two horns ? top is 186, bottom is 1850. As you see, there is only few changes between project. Do you think that if I would put 1850 speaker to 186 horn it will sound that same like in 1850 horn ? Or these plans are so precise?

I ask because we built 1850 horn, and put there RCF LF18N401 driver, and I wondering if it make difference in sound when we would build 186 horn and put there these RCF.

One big disadvantage of these project is weight. About 80 kilos/one... uhhh

P.S. Here you have some mobile-camera photos from building days (2x 1850 and 2x X12):

186 is more musical and softer sound. 1850 is very honky hard sound, and need stack at least 4cabs and 1850 need some strong draivers. READ http://www.speakerplans.com/index.php?id=faq

The chamber size is the main difference and has an effect on frequency response and cone excursion.

High BL driver (strong motor) like the PD.1850 = small chamber.

Lower BL driver like the PD.186 = large chamber.

BL somewhere in between, like the Eighteensound 18LW1400 = medium chamber.
