hi, i'm in need of a mixer for use with my rig. 9/10 it will just be attenuation for a stereo DJ feed, and system EQ. something digital, at a good price secondhand. wifi / router enabled (with or without gubbins) current frontrunner is QU16 by allen and heath, SQ would be nice but i'd like to keep the price down. i'm open to the X32 but it's not that much cheaper the the QU so...

qu-pac if you didn't mind tablet control. The QU mixpad app is very close to the SQ mixpad one.
SQ would be great. I can't imagine spending money on new x32s myself but amazingly have colleagues who have bought recently and rent them to touring bands all the time. A&H also have CQ landing soon which would be brilliant for small format useage. Very much a smol stagebox format but with some control surface models. |

What will the 1/10 use be? Getting a full 32 channel mixing
desk, whose main use is basically a volume control for a stereo signal, seems a
bit over the top to me. |

+1 on that. I see the QSC Touchmix-8 used often for DJ type events and the Behringer Flow8 is another that might fit the bill in a similar footprint.

We've been using a Behringer XR18 for years with no problems as a small digi mixer. Just got a Soundcraft ui24r for a bigger channel count and will cascade the XR into it for the really big stuff !

Allen & Heath CQ is definitely the best of the small stuff, it shares the same processing chip as the SQ range so sounds better than the Qu stuff, only downside is no DCA groups but if you only dealing with a couple of channels at a time its not really a thing to worry about.
Not really a fan of the touchmix, you can clip the inputs even with no gain if you are coming out hot from a DJM and the analogue gains suck. The Berry X Air series seem to do the job pretty well. If it must have faders then Qu-16 would be my pick but personally I would take a CQ over the Qu any day of the week. |

I Put X32 Racks in my disco racks.
Can cope with pretty much anything a DJ will throw at it. If the wifi falls over you can do anything from the front panel. Has more features and better UI than the Qpack. An SQ Rack would be soooooo nice. The Qpack isn't quite there for me. |

Soundcraft Ui24r is best bang for the buck. But buy a new one with a 3 year warranty - some are a bit tempremental and those are the ones people sell on.

Big fan of the A&H offerings, in fact we may have an immaculate QU16 chrome edition coming up for sale in Stroud Gloucestershire soon..
