ive noticed recently how if xt8 horns are installed in Xtros, they seem to have wider dispersion than the td245 horn below.
i don't know if this applies to the original conical horn too.
i think 60h on the td245 is actually a bit optimistic. it's easy to get really even and fairly wide coverage with the XT8 horn midrange with just 2 boxes. has anyone else noticed this discrepancy? or is it just me? - not necessarily in Xtros but in any box with xt8 and/or beyma td245.... perhaps csg can comment with the boxes he build last year? |

Is it possible that the effect will be perceived to be stronger because
of the on axis HF beaming you'll get from the TD245? I think phase plugs like in the xt8 would reflect quite a bit of HF energy out to the sides, as the plug is quite long. Doober or Centauri might be able to comment on this.
What's the x-over frequency? From specs TD245s look like 60degrees down to 5khz, and by 2khz they're around 80degrees. Obviously these measurements weren't taken using the exit angles of the recommended B&C DE500s or CSGs RCF neos, not sure how much that'd impact things. |
