Has anyone built the DM2's as described in the mid/top plans? If so, how do they sound? ( I want to have a nicely performing full range cabinet for P.A., disco, with a nice bass and it's important the mid/highs are sparkling (not muffled) Did you use the Kappa 15(A), Kappa 15 LF or the Kappa 15 pro LF? Thanx in advance for any reactions. Greetings from the Netherlands. Patrick |

The DM2 is an old design now, quite big and heavy for what it is. I haven't built it, but having used similar configurations of drivers in different boxes it's probably very loud, but not that hi-fi. Would make a very good drum fill I expect. Have you considered using perhaps a single 18" or twin 15" reflex sub with a 12"+1" in a small box above it for similar performance and greater portability? I've been building up a system like that for similar applications and am very pleased so far. I wouldn't use the Kappa15(LF)'s of any flavour. Got four of them I used to use but upgraded to some B&C's and would not go back! |

@conor: What are you trying to do? It might be possible to design
such a cab but is it actually the best for what you need? The DM2
is an old design as I said above.
