I just picked up a pair of SRX 722 speaker which sound marvellous and have a tremendous output.
Two slight problems: - They seem to overpower my SRX728S subs a bit, need more output in the sub area - The SRX728S is not high enough, the sub sits just 106cm tall and the top is only 96cm. This puts the horn at a point where it is simply too low Since polemounting the tops is not an option, I was thinking about getting rid of the 728S cabs and building new ones I need - A sub that is at least 125cm high - Double 18" driven at 4ohm or single 18" driven at 8 Ohm - High SPL that - goes up to at least 80hz, maybe 90hz to nicely pair with the tops that have their -3db at 81hz As a driver I had BMS 18N862 or 18N850V2 in mind As I have no experience with designing a cab physically (calculating it in winisd I can do, but i'm talking bracing, handles, etc...) I was wondering if someone could help me out on this. Single 18" might be a good option since I also have SRX712m cabs that would be handy to be useable with a single cab for when less power is required.
