Hey looking into building a bass bin but dont really know much about BASS BINS. Was thinking about building a bin for twin 15s but cant find any plans so was thinking maybe not a good combo or maybe a very complex box to build.
Ive seen a lot of plans that will fit 1 15 or 1 18 but looking at having 1 really nice bin that packs a lot of low end bass. Also dont have a lot of money to spend on subs so any info on subs will help a lot, Can i use a car style sub in the bins. Any comments are a help. Positive or negative thanks heaps |

I think you may get better luck posting in the "plan requests" section of the forum

turbohorns & double hd15 will never really get you low no matter how many you use.
Take a look at bill fritz maurice (google) he has has a single 15" horn that goes LOW Or look at the tapped horns, they won't get you as low, but lower than hd15 / turbobass. Another (heavy) option is the martin audio mk3, this is a heavy f*** -still I would call this a kick more than a sub like hd15+turbo, but this plays deeper, they're doing ok without subs if you use 3 doubles per side! -But still they won't play really deep sub. I would probably suggest reflex / x1 or tapped or labhorn to get you deep. By the way, do you know what deep means? Most often subwoofers don't even play down to 30hz, but 40, 50 or even higher like hd15. |

If you want a horn going low it's going to be about that size, yes.
And you probably need 4 of them, with a tapped you can do it with a single fridge:-) Think about scoops, labhorns etc. If you want to go Hornloaded LOW, it's gonna be big, here we have a concrete basshorn stage:-) But again, do you know what low is? For a lot of people bph, tham15 and other compact horns go low enough. Do you need it? Otherwise go bandpass or reflex. Short Bph (bandpasshorns) like hd15 + turbobass plays their lowest notes (50-60hz) bandpass. If it's a quarterwave horn multiply by 4 to get the approx vawelength of the lowcut, divide speed of sound with this to get freq. So bph do play deeper than you would think, but bandpass not hornloaded. -Louis |
