I find there is a perverse pleasure in making miserly bids, it is surprising how often they are accepted, especially pawnbrokers & repo companies or distributors keen to jog their old stock on.. Often they are not even that cowardly its the sellers boldly inflated expectations create the schism

Ohh my fecking life. That is "ambitious". The 99p opening bid is over the mark, let alone whatever the reserve is. I have skipped better. Studiodisaster!! And the newer fully Chinese version, not the older "had some good shite, but mostly shite" old Studiodisaster. Horizon (Stagebox/loom) went bust in 2002. Mics look clean and tidy, but ebay clones, but nothing there worth more than £2 each S/H. Ultimax speaker stands are OK, have some myself on hire, but realistically £20 max per pair. Speakers look Toa at best, but more likely generic Craplin specials, eminence loaded? £100, and that would include delivery. Just make sure you have a waste transfer license in case you get a pull by the old bill - if they see that in your van they will think you are fly tipping... |

Is it my 4am in the morning imagination, or is this a cable with a speakon (not powercon) at one end and a 13 amp plug at the other ??? |

It is on my mind as my borough council did this - https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/08/02/roofer-fined-300-carrying-sandwich-wrappers-crisp-packets-van/ EA license for 3 years for 3 employees, £165. Just to bring packaging back from installs, to our own trade waste bin...and that is £16+VAT per lift... LBWF did a sting along the A104 going towards Green man Roundabout. Plod guide any van or any mini cab on to grass of Wanstead/Snaresbrook flats, and check everything is legal (MOT/Insurance/Tax/Tyres/License, etc). Then WF EHO look in back for illegally carried waste. Then VOSA bloke comes round with his little wheel nut tapping hammer and does a mini MOT. They started about 8am, and we got snared at 11.30am. We were the first vehicle to be allowed to leave without finding anything!!! (I had even topped up the washer jet bottle before leaving our unit!). Bloody annoying as it took ages, and I was on my way to Australian High Commission to do sound/AV and lights for a fireside chat between Lord Hague and Aus High Commissioner Alexander Downer. You can imagine how I did not want to be late for that set-up... |
