Thats pretty good. Still, the buyer can rest assured that probably wasn't used for long before it gave up.

£695 for two Maplin GA28F 150w mosfet kits in a box that certianly didn't have them in to start with? I fitted quite a few of these into fried amps with working PSUs, I wish I'd kept them, I'd pay off my mortgage if this is the way they go! Dreamer....

Here's an interesting one:
Correctly described as faulty, but read on... That same unit was sold (also described as faulty) a month ago for £336.96, see here: Between then and now somebody has disguised it by swapping the distinctive white jack socket nuts for black ones, fitting a new (looks bodged) pushbutton switch, and - best of all - altered the serial number from 0459 to 0469 with a black pen. Anybody who has used one of these will know what a lovely thing it is when working. But a dead one is BER (Beyond Economic Repair) and almost worthless because the delay chips, which were somewhat fragile if not treated carefully, haven't been made for years and are unobtainable. Well, some unsuspecting punter has paid over £300 for it ! I wonder how long it will be before it reappears, described as "I don't know what this is, and haven't been able to test it" or similar? Edited by madboffin - 27 November 2025 at 7:33pm |
