E cheque is how the payment is made when you have a bank account registered with your Paypal account but not a credit/debit card.
Paypal take the money from your bank account but, like a cheque it takes 7-10 days to clear. Has your card been renewed since you opened the paypal account? If so you will have to register your new card with them. |

Debit cards run out. They send you a new one every so often and you have to register the new card with Paypal.

Go to your Paypal account and click on "Wallet". This will show you the bank account ans debit card they have registered. Check the number they have with your actual card.

I've sold a few things on eBay over the last few months and yes PayPal are holding on to the monies received, in my case, for as long as 3 weeks. I also think it's just another cynical way of making extra money out of people. They do say that the seller should despatch goods as the longer the seller takes to do that the more time they have to wait for funds to be released to them. The seller in your case Jay is not doing himself any favours.

This is another good reason to stop using EBay and Paypal. Just another way of ripping us off, cannot wait until another selling site with less or no rip off charges starts up and gives EBay a run for its money. Unless we stop using them they will just keep finding other ways of taking more money when we list and sell stuff.

I have had this before.
Bought a pair of bass bins off a guy on ebay early December last year. Paid him with paypal, then picked them up in person a few days later. I was very happy so I gave him positive feedback. I got a call from him a couple of weeks later saying that his money was being withheld for 28 days as he was a newish member (less than 3 months on ebay). He was concerned as he wanted the money (was about 300 pounds) to buy presents for his kids for christmas, and was told that the money would not clear until 28th December. He asked if I could help, so I said yes of course, I will ring ebay and explain that I was totally happy with my purchase. To cut a long story short.. after ages on the phone to ebay, and even speaking to a supervisor explaining about the presents for christmas for his kids, and that I was totally happy...got absolutely nowhere. The moral of this story is that ebay / paypal are totally biased against the seller. |

I totally agree with you Simon. The sad part of it is that I had one of the items advertised on Facebook for months and only got timewasters enquiring if I still had the item for sale. On eBay it went in one auction. Another sad fact, is that buyers seem to feel more comfortable buying through eBay. You have to admit buyers do get a lot of protection.
