a few from me, first off, a pair of double 12" push pull loaded reflex cabs, accidentally almost 6th order tuning.

built for the red house in sheffield which is nice backstreet pub that does quite a few band gigs and hosted tinnutus and other more banging stuff before neighbours moved in.

loaded with beyma lx60s, lovely sound.

next, a random prototype of a double 12 push pull bandpass horn in a w-bin stylee, longer horn path than most bp horns, showed promise, sounded good but not very efficient and made a horriically wierd clacking sound when run at volume, think that mustve been the cones hitting the internal wiring, probably going to plug this back in when i get a minute in the next week or two and see what it's saying, if the clack is still there etc.

finally, this beast
arguably one of the finer car stereos in the uk, compenentry throughout is largely pimping, it's mounted in a shogun that has been skinned in 3mm steel plate in an angular yet tasteful style. it has a train horn and a compressor to driver the train horn :) it is a doom wagon.

thats what's inside it, a compact tapped horn designed around an atc pa75 bass /rubber surround jobby, had to fit to the back door so space was severely limited, hence the side/rather fudged mouth termination.
predicted response in .5 pi,

owners response to it was that it made his eyes wobble on the first notch of the bass dial which isn't entirely surprising in such a solid vehicle.

I like the sound of that :)  Bet it's scary when you tweek it up a couple more notches..

Were you aiming for a very loud hifi experience then and did you ever take it along to any competitions?

Good effort, it looks like a very fun 4x4 to own!

What kind of mids are those, they look interesting?

If people have paid good money for a one off commision they would hardly be happy to find out the plans were being shared about a few years later.

Let's keep this thread alive. It's nice to see the "out of the box" things that people are doing.

Any new prototypes / one off's?

1 off bandpass sub for my car. 10 inch JL Audio auto audio subdriver, but I can't remember what model #. Tuned for 30 to 60 hz. Fed with 150 watts. Sounds awesome enough that I ended up designing 4 18inch 6th order band pass subs so I can add the deep bass to the PA. This box was built with all materials that I had laying around, including the driver. I think I did have to buy some gasket tape though. The driver is not very efficient, but the other day while setting up the PA at an outdoor party I just played music from the car. Another sound person came over to see how we could possibly already have set up the pa and started sound checking. Very flattering for my garbage bin. Dollar for dollar, this is probably the best sounding speaker I have ever made. Clearly not up to PA duty, but it does a job well.
