general consensus is that this box plays best 50<180 hz but is playable from 40<200 depending on stack size etc. it was designed to play 70hz and up on some lab horns I believe but a stack of four I can imagine would be great for say 40hz<180hz. any good horn loaded mid top that can drop to 180 hz preferably 160 or lower will probably be a good start, what do you play thorugh your system? |

es18's were around before USB'S which davey T designed to sit on top of his lab subs
basically the same box, just slightly modded to fit over a pair of labs. we use our from 70-180hz with MT121's on top and hogs underneath...i dont really like crossing them any lower or higher as i think thats where its gets a bit iffy....you could use them as stand alone bass bins in groups of 4, but youd still only be hitting 45hz or so. personally i think its a pretty hard to beat DIY combination....but i would say that after spending months building it. |
