I remember at Plasa they Demo'd the 4 x 18, lots of underwhelmed faces as they had just switched of the T18.
It just is.

Can an EV MTH4 be chopped up and made into 3 or 4 handier cabinets?

I have looked with interest at the other models.
The reason I am asking about splitting the mth 4 is I have found a guy selling a pair of mth4.

They are too heavy for me to move or use (1 man sound co).

But I think I could handle the weight if I split them into 1) high, 2) mid 3) cone drivers.

I am just wondering if I can simply take a saw to the cabinets, or if I need to watch out for any potential problems.

The smaller members of the MTH series use the same drivers as the MTH4, so I could try build an MTH1 style cabinet... just need to find a plan :)

Regards, Ben

Thanks, that's a very nice plan for the bass enclosure, but I'm afraid I can't find the mid-tops.

Regards, Ben

even split into 2 they would still be a 3 man lift mate ! they are really that heavy and all the handles are in the wrong places i think these were made with a fork lift in mind !

my mids are 80kg and my subs are around 110kg most of the time just 2 of us lift these but them mh4 were a piss take 4 of us had problems ! and i would never try to lift them on to a sub never ! if you have the time just go and look at them ill give you £50 if you can push the cab a yard on your own !
