Hello everyone! Another quick question for the collective brainbox before i commit to spending a large sum of money...
Does anybody have any experience with this driver?
I will be buying 4 of these to put into golden ratio c-2e paraflex cabinets unless anyone persuades me otherwise! Any real world experience? This seems to be a very interesting design (from the diy paraflex community on facescrape) with a lot of potential, yet i cant find a single mention of it on this forum. Is there a reason for that? I hope everyone is keeping well, and thank you all for the vast amounts of knowledge i have gained from this wonderful forum

Serious driver, one of the strongest on the market at the moment, ive been testing it vs the 18sw115 and they each have there pros and cons but there comparable. I have some for sale if anyone wants some.

I have not A/B tested them with the 9601 but the XL2000 is quite clean and dryer sounding than SW, the SW has more warmth. From the Klippel data the XL has slightly higher BL but steeper BL curve than the SW, the new Celestion looks the best on paper for horns but they are still not ready yet, has nice flat BL curve and maintains high BL at high excursion.

OK thanks for that I will have to pay more attention to the Celestion & Faital Pro I think we might be coming to and end on how much we can get out of these drivers considering the way the coil is wound for majority prob the difference may come in the quality of construction and materials used ie Neo etc. |

The paraflex design has been tested side by side with Xoc1 TH.
Similar size. Same driver. Same Amp. No differences besides the enclosures. And the Paraflex seemed to be the overall better design. You dont fint the Xoc1 to be efficient either?

Xoc1 is more or less Danley TH118 inspired. That box ha 102db overall efficiency.
Compared to a correct sized front loaded horn, that is not efficient. |

Thanks for all the responses, im glad to hear good things of both the driver and the cabinet
![]() As for horn efficiency, as much as i would love a fully hornloaded system, its simply not practical in many situations for us. |

We are planning to build a prototype of this plan alongside an updated version aiming at improving low end response.
I will post measurements as soo as possible. |
