Whats this I hear about some really good copies of Funktion One?
Apparently they have all the components from the originals, and are just slightly bigger. Is this GRF audio or someone else? i cant find a name for the company that Tony Andrews won the court battle. My mate is , he said they sound just as good. he recently spent almost 100 grand on funktion one and he could have bought the copies for 10 grand. |

i thought it was bollocks too, thats why i said "apparently".
although maybe it is possible, as many components are sourced from china in the first place Edited by Majestic - 02 December 2013 at 2:30am |

Tony won against an individual. Not a company. The company that have recently started making copies is TPA. They have apparently sold some substantial number of boxes, but whoever have heard them has told that they sound nothing like the original.

i have never heard them, just found out about these 'good' copies from my brother.
tbh i havent even heard a good sounding genuine funktion one rig, not to say that they cant sound good. i have heard a couple of festival rigs that sounded bad and i wasnt impressed by a club install in newcastle. maybe they werent set up properly, even my friend who spent £100k doesnt know how to rig his |

It's quite bad kit. The horns are badly made and the components ....IF YOU'RE LUCKY won't break every week.

Majestic, was the club called Digital? I was in there a few weeks ago and their dance stack was far from impressive. No guts.
Still, I've heard it sounding fantastic. I reckon when the Chinese learn to come up with their own great designs were all screwed. Soon it'll be the choice of work like the Chinese or work for the Chinese. |
