Well it 'looks' nice, but you dont buy a driver for its looks do you? It's not till you start reconing one,and compare the coil to a real original PD that you see how they have made it so cheaply. Also beware the chassis will not be as rigid or a strong as the original either. In my experience with chinese drivers, the copies usually have inferior materials and thinner chassis legs. Will it sound like a PD? Somehow i doubt it.

Hey look, this Pakistani distributor says it all "all being manufactured with the British logo and the British brand" - not quite the same as manufactured in Britain.

Hmm, can't put the YT video windows link in properly.  Here's what I tried https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Dmb-BnejIE

I have so many questions. Confused

A quick look at the BS (interesting acronym - coincidence?) website I see a 1500W driver which ‘looks’ equally as nice as the one in the video. The spec sheet links takes you to another driver which vaguely familiar.

Both have 280 mags, but they look to be single piece. The chassis looks to be lightened too. Voice coil - what is it?

Maybe an interesting buy, not many drivers on the market at this price. Are recone kits available though, I think they’ll be needed.

In a nutshell, if you can't afford a new PD, buy a used PD.

Whatever you do, just don't buy a Chinese PD Copy. LOL

I'm not saying PD 18" Drivers are the only way, B&C/Oberton make some nice budget 18s also.

Personally think, if you can't afford used Fane 18XBs for reflex cabs, maybe you should choose another past time.

I'll be building a rig here in China ready in the spring based on drivers I will buy from the same factory that delivers to Bishop. Obviously I'm paying less for the drivers than you would in the UK through Bishop. It makes sense for me to get started at least. Eventually, when I can afford it, I'll upgrade. The original 1850 and many other drivers aren't actually even sold here in China. For reconing, I can send them back the factory no problem. Of course a luxury I would have here being in China. I don't expect the copies to be as good as the originals, especially when pressed hard, but I have build a scoop and a kick for testing and they sound fine. I've had to put the project on pause, but will soon continue. I'll measure the scoops and kick and share the data here.
