Greetings people!
I am new on the forum and looking for a few advices from you people that got scoop experience ![]() I would like to know if the large chamber version (big up mickey!) could give good results with the Fane Colossus PRIME 18xs. Local sound use that driver in super scooper and is very satisfied but i would like to try to build the Fane scoop that looks easier to built. Thanks in advance and sorry for my lack of knowledge, i am still a beginer. |

Years ago, many people reported 18XS was not very good in Scoops. PD 1851 Work well in larger chamber version, PD1852 in Smaller chamber version. I have P1851 and 1852 for sale. In UK.

The 1852s are unused since recone (in 2022), and 4 ohm units.

If the panel behind the speaker is 440mm and not 450mm, how would that sound with the 18NLW9601? The front panel is 36mm so the speaker clears the rear panel by 10mm.

With only 10mm clearance, that voice coil will get extremely hot, at high power input, and cause power compression. That chamber will be too small, for 18NLW9601.
I've have owned that driver, and in right box, with suitable power, is top class performer. |
