hi fellow sp'ers. i have a formula sound fsm 600 that seems to be unable to filter out intermitant mains hum. it comes and goes and is also made worse (most of the time) by pfl buttons being pressed.also seems to be triggered by the music starting ! any ideas?thanks in advance

Sounds like an earthing (grounding) fault, not a filter thing....

If nobody on here can give you an answer before Monday morning, give the guys at Formula Sound a call. They've got to be the most helpful people I've ever spoken to. I had an annoying fault on my FSM600 that I couldn't solve, called them and at first they couldn't fathom it but an hour or so later they called me back to say what the fault was.
Formula Sound is how tech support should be.

I second that. The support/service guy (Ian I recall) sets the standard on what customer support should be like in any company
