Yes it is poplar core, It is awful stuff, regrettably I didn't do my research on plywood before building the cabs, I remember reading to use birch ply and for it to be over 12 laminate, well I stumbled across this ply and it was 12 laminate and looked to be good quality on the racks at the timber yeard, got it to the workshop and cut all my pieces to size then some of them warped, it really pissed me off because I am actually building them for my school project and it was too late to start again.
However it is actually ok now it is all fixed together as one rigid structure, and now they are sealed with Tuff Cab paint they are really nice, very rigid and strong / straight.

Now I have learned my lesson, the next set I build will be made from birch ply!

A good prototype then!!!!! some people mock up in mdf b4 shelling out on birch ply so no harm done.
Is it me or can someone see a subliminal message appearing about evey minute for a split second under the emotion icons and beside the post reply button? Or is it just me?

poplar core be nice and light then (good)
just watch the edges
a bit soft there so splinters easier
dewsons do a popular, with birch on the faces
has to be ordered, and expensive but light
by the way birch warps as well, depend on the weather and how its stored (Flat)
it takes a least a week to go flat to put on a vacuum bed on cnc

Wisa Twin is another Birch FACED option.
Jewsons (ugh) will do it for £35 plus VAT if you ask, not much less than BB, tenner ish, but those tenners mount up on twenty sheets or so.

15mm BB is a load cheaper than 18mm, LABS are made from 15mm IIRC?
Even Travis quoted me £38ish inc VAT for it.
It just is.

hi banksy.

below the baffle there should only be one brace per fold for two folds and then two on the bottom. thats what the plan says anyway. Wink
