Hi there, I am very lucky to be in the possession of the biggest horn loaded tops ever built by FÖÖN Audiotecture (one of the oldest speaker manufacturers here in germany). The so called F4 is the upscaled version of the F3 and consists of the LD80 (80cm, 2" ,exponential Horn) and the mid section of the MCH 2 (80cm, 15") mounted in 2 aluminium frames. We deployed the system because the cops didn't want it to get loud but we did so we negotiated on only bringing 4 speakers and less than 3kW RMS Under the F4 we got a pair of E24 (2*12", 25Hz, exponential horn). Amping is Powersoft (2*K2dsp and 2*K3dsp). This is not DIY however I thought these would be interesting for all. If you got any questions feel free to ask! They were built somewhere around 2000 by Audio Studio Nord. We have them since 2015. Only 4 were ever built (all ours).

Everything over now... It was for a concert of a brass band. A short clip: http://youtu.be/m2LaOuM5PQM - http://youtu.be/m2LaOuM5PQM The sound was amazing and really impressive for just 4 boxes. The bass was a bit understaffed, but at least now we know that our limiters are working The two tops could have easily kept up with 4 or even 6 bins. The system was surprisingly easy and fast to transport by two man. The tops are lighter than they look (maybe 40kg). Everything was in the car after 20 minutes. Really a shame that bigger events like this are rare nowerdays. |

Damn i was seeing these albeit a bit smaller i think (must be the f3 ? ) in work a couple of times in Croatias capital ,like one per side on the main square covering pretty nicely. Was always wondering what they are, they are black but have the same metal framework.

I don't know of any F3's in Croatia... The F3 can be seen here: http://foeoen.de/katalog/25.html We got 10 of those. Carl Cox played on two as monitors once, full power; he must be very deaf. Edit: There are no black F3's in existence. Edited by LÃo - 20 September 2018 at 9:25pm |
