Best for what !?

Being involved in many of the "battling" of the past, I learned many things..

Scoops are not great for every purpose.
Many people here, don't like Scoops,
Many people here who like to put Scoops down, don't know what they are talking about.
Unbiased opinions about Scoops, are few and far between.

I used to use scoops for discos from 1986 to 2000. They were great.

In approx, 2007, I bought 4x ASS RX18 Scoops, from Hammersmith Palais.

Apparently at one time, they had approx 16x.

About as intelligent as it gets, in terms of an answer to the question.

I would add, Scoop also needs to be optimal with, or tuned to, the chosen driver.

I agree, build quality is as important, if not more important, than actual design. Obviously matching throat & chamber size to driver is up there but proper bracing and having a solid build makes a huge difference.

I still have a lot of nuance questions I would like answered as they keep echoing in my head. Some of them involve this stuff regarding tuning to a driver and all, and whether or not I can apply existing knowledge..

Reckon I should just create a new topic?

I admit I can't read all the backlog of topics, even if there's a lot of interesting stuff in there. I simply don't have the eyesight I had five years ago. :')

Different drivers work optimally in different Scoop designs, due to differing T/S parms.
Low qts driver will work better in tight chamber, low qes driver, will work better in Scoop with tight throat.
Med qts/qes driver will work better in Scoop with larger chamber/throat.
This is why V18-1000 is great in Superscooper, and PD1850 is pretty crap in it.
Also why PD1852, will play warmer and deeper, than V18-1000/PD1850, in the right Scoop.

Just saved you 18x years, of reading the Scoop Forum.
