Strictly in In terms of "2x channel amps", similar to Admark K30, AD30, AD42, AD60, 1U. Was recently informed, not all similar amps are identical, or "equal", and they are "not" all the same internally, with just rebrand. Was told some brands are better built than Admark, in terms of exceeding output transistor count, per channel. Can any informed personnel, confirm this? At the moment, I assumed, Admarks were typically the best built/most reliable, of the AD30/AD42 and similar group of 1U amps.

Yes. There are other things to watch as well - like the SMPS. If that isn't up to the job, it doesn't matter how many O/P devices you have. Collapsing rails & severe limiting seems to be par for the course for most of these amps. |

Makes sense. Have seen in examples of the chinese LabG FP copies, where 2x amps are rated @ 6.5kwpc @ 2 ohms, but the more expensive unit, has more "transformer cores".

No. I keep clear of Class D. I just don't trust them, especially the knock-offs from China. There's a good reason that they are cheap - and it's not the amazing build quality, component choice & quality control! I just bought (another) Crest Pro 9200 from a friend. Trusted user & trusted amp, besides being more that enough power for what I need. I'd rather take more cabs to a gig than rag every (supposed) watt from my drivers. It's been ages since I've actually blown a driver and hope to keep it that way. ![]() |

Would have to say on the whole, I agree with most of that, with Admarks proving to be the exception to the rule, given certain limitations. It is easier to move 2x Admarks, than 1x Void Infinite 8MK2 !!! And now with sourcing repairers/parts for Powersfot K20 almost impossible... Hmmmm...

one way to make a cheap product is to have good qc and a very low returns rate. |

Yes, weight does become a factor as the years go by! That's why I bought the 9200. To (more or less) replace a TDT EX3400 (C18 copy). The EX has served me really well for years, but at 36kg is a weight. At 10kg, the 9200 is a joy, has plenty of (real) power & has electronics that even I can understand! |
