Hi, am working with some friends developing their ambisonic system.

There's a real need for proper processing. It's a 12-16 way system depending on the deployment.

At this time, the only cost efficient solution for LMS (as well as general IO duties) appears to be a X32 rack, or similar.

Will probably get the DANTE card too to link to the ambisonic software.

My question is, how does it handle some basic LMS duties such as crossovers, delay, and speaker protection limiting?

Anything else to be aware of?

Of course a soundweb or xicilia would be preferable, but at this price, with DANTE card, the X32 is an easy buy.

I'd also ask if anyone has experience with the DANTE card. Can the DANTE outputs from a PC be hardwired to the mixer outputs, without using input channels?

You can link Dante I/O thru the PC with Dante Via software. It has a fixed delay which I think is 10mS - but it lets you route audio in and out of the PC thru the LAN. No harm in trying - as its fairly cheap & has a 30 day free trial.
