I finally want a proper sub for the van instead of the crappy boomy one note bass you get from most car sub enclosures.

So would this work if I downscaled all the measurements by 2.4 on either the 184 or C-sub or X1???

And what 12 inch driver would work in that box??? Eminence labsub or Ciare 12.00 SW?? Or what alse???

You should know by now toxic the X1 and C sub (and 184 sub) are 6th order bandpass enclosures that can be modelled in any loudspeaker program.

Find your driver find your desired size and see how it performs bearing in mind that autos add gain down the bass end anyway not too sure why this occurs but hey a bandpass even with a 10" sub driver ought to do it.

Or you could just build bill fitzmaurices autotuba and have a mini horn in the back then take it out of the van along with another 7 of them and use them for subs at a dj gig

Do it in winISD.  Just scaling the dimensions won't work (unless you get lucky) Same thing was asked a while back...

Yeah, front and back chamber volumes for different drivers will change, just like different drivers in the x1 won't usually work. Also port tunings would need to be different. If you don't want one-note bass, you're doing it the wrong way. I use QUALITY sealed 12"s and they're great.
