cheers guys. its a great sounding rig. could have had it seriously louder (had about 75wrms into each cabinet), but capability of 2x180wrms. i was just worried about battery life seeing as it was a purely 12volt night with no other main rig. at points we had kiddies coming up asking how many 'k' the rig was. when i said "150watts mate" they thought i was taking the michael.

looks fun but is it not soo much easier just to get a 2kw gennie for like £70 quid and not have to worry about battery dieing. i know you shouldnt really run rigs off petrol gennies but we did for years before getting a diesil one

i think its about the same in terms of effort to get. fact is, its very easy to leave the batteries up the woods for later collection. a genny stands out a lot more. main reason i went 12v is for the challenge. anyone can roll a cheap petrol genny into situ and plug their stuff in. going 12v adds to the fun because you need to factor in a lot more limitations. petrol gennies sound like shit too... the 12v rig doesnt have to be run flat out to cover a load of metal grinding noise. also, how many ltrs does it actually take to run 2kw for 10hrs? a ltr an hour? or more? 10ltrs of petrol is about half the weight of the batteries i use for 10hrs..
