Hi,
I have two Eminence definimax 1840lf that I would like to rebuild cabs for, preferably horns. I've read up on what makes a driver appropriate for horns, and they seem ill suited, but I would like some opinions on these particular ones. Here are the specs: *Power handling: 800 watts RMS/1,600 watts max *VCdia: 4" *Le: 4.78 mH *Impedance: 8 ohms *Re: 6.19 ohms *Frequency range: 36-200 Hz *Magnet weight: 109 oz. *Fs: 32 Hz *Sensitivity: 95 dB 1W/1m *Vas: 8.4 cu. ft. *Qms: 10.38 *Qes: 0.36 *Qts: 0.35 *Xmax: 7.9 mm *Dimensions: Overall Diameter: 18", Cutout Diameter: 16.57", Mounting Depth: 8.13". fs/qts = 91 What are your thoughts? Thanks, Robby

I don't know that much about horns so I can't give you the best response but I think these drivers are best suited to a reflex enclousure since they are designed to have a fairly flat response.
I have some magnum 12HO which were discontinued and then the definimax appeared to replace them and they work really well in a double loaded reflex cab.

If you want to build horns build a hybrid (something along the lines of the SD18).
