Hi,
Im looking to build the 1850 horn/sub from this forum. I live in Canada and was wondering what the equivalent would be here since it would cost me a fortune to get the PD here. Thanks. |

Im guessing the US would have the same brands too.
What is the United States Equivalent to the PD 1850? Im seeing Eminence, 18 Sound and a few others always popping up... |

Wasn't there a Canadian company making 1850 equivalents a while back? A quick Google doesn't turn up anything but maybe I'm not using the right keywords...

indeed, i remember when simming the big one, it was a bit peaky at 40hz like the turbomax ones, so thought best for scoops than smooth horns at the time.. |

I had some very nice email exchanges with one of the sales guys for that company, very helpful at the time (although they were pricey)... Didn't end up buying anything from them as I was just researching, but I do have experience with a 12" home jobby of theirs in the late '90s I think it was from the "pentivent" line or something, rather nice sounding drivers, although the bulk of my experience at the time was Vega bins, and car audio madness (I was addicted to bass at an early age).
The last time I checked the specs of the available Pro drivers, they looked real nice and are a Canadian product (not sure if actually assembled here though). I had asked sales if they had any suitable for horn loading and the nice man sent me a spreadsheet for an 18 that wasn't even released yet, and gave me a date to expect them to be available!!! edited for spelling of pentivent***
