Hi all. Please help
I currently have 4 tham15 loaded with beyma 15p1000fe. Though nice cabs I find myself needing more spl at times. I know some may say add more cabs if spl needed but is there any other cab design I can use these beyma's in. I don't have have the funds right now to purchase more drivers and with that I will have to purchase more amps. I am happy crossing at 40 to 112hz (the thams play in that frequency). I play all types of music at different occasions. Mid high cabs are dual 12 and comp which I am happy with. Any ideas will be appreciated. Mike |

Well tapped horns are efficient, if you have 4 flh they'd probably beat them, but be bigger!
This is a lot of work! By the way; how much power are you feeding them? (what amp?) |

Hi tv00.
I am using a crown vz3600. I even tried a vz5000 a few times. Which flh would you recommend? |

Ok, then you could probably squeeze the double power out of your boxes.
But still more boxes is better than playing max! That crown gives 1565Watts at 4 ohms, 2 of these 15" claim 4000 watts program @ 4 ohms. So you could try doubling the power. I'm not sure what design would be the best, with one F2B per side you won't get low. How about CBe-cyclops, should be more efficient being symmetrical, yet probably just +1-2dB Still it's VERY costly building cabs, if you ask me it cost more than amps & drivers! Unless your time is not worth money, still Birch ply, materials, workshop etc. is very expensive. |

Building cabs does'nt have to be super costly but they will take up alot of time to get a good finish, but remember to get extra 3db you need another 4!!
Tham 15 hard to beat, for extra spl and same drivers changing cabs you will lose some low end would think?? or sound quality say with 6th bandpass

The 3600 does not have the LOI, and can damage the woofer cones (get a 5000). |
