Topic: Mini Living Room Stack - Ojas StylePosted: 28 December 2024 at 5:04am |

Hello! Another newbie in town 👋 Ideally something tall and narrow. So far the closest thing to what I'd like to create is the Ojas self build kit. This is my first time building a speaker stack. I'm thinking I might get timber cut by http://plyco.com.au in Melbourne (Australia) Is anyone able to give me some pointers to any designs which are most like these references? I'll post more pictures to this topic if I find. Many thanks! MT ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Possibly USB Bass + MT121 Mid is somewhere close. But perhaps that's too much on the larger size end for me?

The Klipsch LaScala (and variants) has been used as a home speaker and should have the efficiency for use outdoors.

what kind of music are you looking to play? and what is modest size :) and what about portability? only moving it to the garden of across the city? i run a smallish system based on a jbl 4530 with Stage accompany e24's on top and while it sings in our garden and our large living room many hornloaded systems tend neec to much space to really come to life if your room isn't large enough.

I do love the look of the La Scala! but afraid they're way too big for what I'm trying to build.
@bams I play a whole variety but mostly electronic dance. E24's sound like they could be good, do you have any photos?

These are sort of size I'd like: https://stakx.be/mini
Thought I might share this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/SoundSystem/comments/y1fk5s/here_is_my_personnal_homemade_soundsystem/ Seems there's a few designs on this site which might suit me: https://planssystemes.notion.site/ I have access to my mates CNC machine for no charge. So really I'm just looking for any kind of cabinet design of this size which I can get cut. Suppose just start with whatever drivers recommended for the cabinet design.

i really like the look of the CAL mini rig, lot of thought went in to it. seems all CAL's stuff is offline now, big shame, think i have the plans on my computer though. other options, mini scoops and mini cabs such as this simba thingy by HOcockS https://www.instagram.com/hoqs_europe/p/Cm8vGxFM6nr/?img_index=1 i gave this some thought on a post here a while back, didn't go anywhere though

I think Calum Audio got into some kind of ding dong with the Paraflex designers / owners and closed up shop. He made a number of very upset posts about it on social media. Perhaps this is of interest to you. I can't see a way to open a free account and download the file without putting credit card info in (I guess they hope you forget to cancel after 30 days 'free'), but if you wanna give it a go, it's there https://www.scribd.com/document/626498227/CAL-Mini-Rig-BUILD-NOTES
