Hi guys, is there anyone here who knows about these amps. I have one that I want to get serviced and one that only has one channel working, might be a relay issue. Any info on someone who can service/repair these in life ndon would be helpful. Already asked local shops and amp man in potters bar Or if it's easy enough to do I don't mind having a crack at it

The biggest problem with those is the density inside! Everything is really tight - and any build up of dust, etc. can cause problems, i.e. a short somewhere. On the plus side, once you've taken them apart, they are quite easy to work on i.e. no SMD... ![]() When you say a relay problem, do you mean the channel staying in protect? That definitely could be 1 or more blown O/P devices due to a short. The place to check first is next to the fan. That's where the stuff tends to accumulate. |

I assume you mean London? Steve Fox at Service department was a regular contributor to this forum, he was in Wimbledon which I believe is a part of that there London? He'd be able to do an 8001. Most amp engineers can do these as it's old technology but the weight means they dont travel well in cardboard. |
