I would like to see a diagram of their system with heat flow.. because Im perhaps not understanding what they are suggesting is exchanging heat energy from the voice coil to the exterior of the cabinet ..using air "conduction" sounds massively inefficient to me.. why not use a heat pipe attached to the thermal mass of driver magnet to an external radiating surface.. or just design the cabinet with driver magnet not inside the box ..like many are anyway.

Their website at https://pchaudio.co.uk/ says that they're in Downham Market, Norfolk. Sub-woofer page https://pchaudio.co.uk/products/subwoofers looks interesting. PS The natural wood flight cases https://pchaudio.co.uk/products/flight-cases look the part as well.

I’m pretty sure that for a location where is the correct adverb to use not what.
Whilst I wouldn’t agree, I do accept that what constitutes interesting is subjective. However the linked page has zero information on passive aperiodic loudspeaker cooling manifold technology, which is where the OP asked about.
It states that the standard colour is black although other colours are available. Given the 3 to 5 month lead time, I assume that materials are only ordered once an order/deposit has been placed, so I would imagine that an unpainted case could be requested. |

So sorry :) Edited out the part of the post that I was replying to, where Fudge22 (replying to snowflake) said: "A spoof, wind up or April fool. Take your pick."

Their woodwork is exeptionally good. The technology mentioned is in the pattent approval process so no details publicly shown.
The entire design looks very interesting and i am sure it will work as advertised.

Exceptionally good woodwork is not that difficult if you have access to a CNC router; assuming you have reasonable CAD skills. Curious as to why there are only photos of the racks/cases on the web site, presumably no actual loudspeaker cabinets exist to photograph.
Do you have a link, or patent number? I’ve looked on the UK gov patent site and there is nothing listed. With regards the trade marks, Kaizen Acoustic turned up nothing and Thermaflow is registered but nothing to do with PCHAudio.
I’m not sure whether a “woosh” is incoming, but from the description: ThermaFlow adds a flush, resistive, (aperiodic) manifold between a sealed rear chamber and horn path. Via a flush perforated plate + foam. I assume that this is a snail style front loaded horn (similar to the punisher horn). A vent is cut in one of the rear chamber panels, and then covered with a perforated panel and sheet of foam. A foam covered perforated panel basically describes a typical grille. Hole size, layout and percentage of open area may be different but essentially a grille. Here is a simple paint drawing for those having difficulty understanding. The red bit is the passive aperiodic cooling manifold. ![]() I look forward to independent tests proving that this is indeed capable of reducing the voice coil temperature up to 30ºC, but until then, if this is genuine, and not a spoof or just some AI generated drivel, my polite response is that I remain sceptical about its effectiveness. |

oh they have plenty fotos of their cabs, just went looking there. (PC, firefox browser) went to products, selected one and scroll right through the pictures. I just don't want to lift those amp cases, two 100 year old trees went into each... looking just heavy, double 18mm

OK. The scroll is not working for me, so appologies for the incorrect info. I'm still sceptical about the device being discussed. |

Hover the cursor over the picture [Product Information] will appear, click on that and you'll get a pic of the cabinet. St the bottom of that pic will be 3 small circles, click on one of the smaller circles and get a scroll option.

Speaking of driver cooling, I've noticed in the many videos that have surfaced of that massive UK Resonance system a few weeks back that all of the sub cabs have a star shaped metal item embedded into the woodwork right behind where I assume the driver is located. Ive never seen that before, and I'm wondering if its a cooling system that's connected to the back of the magnet somehow?
