Via via I got my hands on this seemingly 'antique' Barracuda Preamp!

It appears to be an oddity that had many wondering but i'm pretty sure it's a 'Barry' and not something else.

I hope this link works. These pictures are the ones found on Facebook when this unit was sold to someone else some years ago.

I have been doing some minor cleaning and fastening some nuts, re-aligning knobs...

But the Controls and the In/Outs seem to hurt my brain a bit. They don't exactly behave as i'd expect. I am only sure about the Mic inputs and the 3 way Outputs (x2).
I've been playing some tunes to find out what is what but some things don't seem to make sense to me.

Does anyone have any info on this Beast or could point me to someone who is familiar with Barracuda preamps?
I used to have one of them Barracuda MK1 preamps but this one ,however similar, seems to behave a little different.

Is the 'Barry the Builder' still around?
I would love to find out some history about this peculiar piece or if anyone recognises it.

Any help or info is greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately, unless you have a VPN, no one in the uk can view the image as imgur doesn't work here... If you can find another way to host it, then you may get a few answers.
blah blah blah blah blah......

Wow, I work on Baracuda preamps all day and have seen lots but I've never seen one like that. Not his style and I don't recognise many of the boards. Someone will be along in a bit to identify it but that might be why it doesn't make sense.

It shares some characteristics with other Barracudas but it still keeps us guessing...
Thanks for the input , maybe its been re-worked a few times...

The metal plate on top & the thin/long plate next to the killswitches reveal previously drilled holes > In/Outs used to be on top & the leds were a bit more to the left originally but welded some strip of plate on top of it to cover them. Sure hope someone recognises it :).

I need to replace 1 or 2 pots and one switch but am reluctant to touch it in general LOLLOLsoon...

Barracuda didn't normally make preamps from steel, usually aluminium. The slide controls are also not usual and nor are the vu meters. Plenty of evenly spaced fasteners are also not his thing. Screened cable was not a thing nor was multicoloured wire, one or two colours for the lot all held with gaffa tape or bare 1mm used as supports.
Even though this might be a one off I'm sure someone will be along in a bit
