I've just popped the top off a Peavey PV2600 I acquired a while back as it has a DDT fault on one channel (cuts in the moment it's turned on). Looking at the circuit diagram and at several pictures of other PV2600's, they are usually fitted with banks of 4x12000uf 63v capacitors on each channel, this one only has a pair of 4700uf 80v fitted each side, and there's no visible evidence there were ever more fitted. Does anyone know if this was an early incarnation or has it been fiddled with? If it's been hacked, can I just replace the existing pair of capacitors with the bank of 4, or are there going to be associated components missing?

The 2600 is class G grounded bridge so it needs at least 4 capacitors per channel, ie +LV1 -LV1 +HV1 -HV1 +LV2 -LV2 +HV2 -HV2
(the same as the ubiquitous QSC RMX2450 et al). That's 8 psu rails = 8 capacitors. It's also why they're rated lower voltage than its smaller sister the PV1500 which is class AB and only needs 2 per channel but at a higher voltager rating. Any chance someone has rebadged a 1500 and sold it as a 2600 in disguise? (edit: some pv1500 revisions do have 2 x smaller capacitors in parallel, but it's the same as 1 larger one on its own, the diagrams make it clearer).
