A bit of everything, but yes, mainly pro audio, a bit of lighting - & SCOOPS!!   LOL LOL LOL

Best thing for you is to take a look at some of the old threads. What are your main interests in the world of audio?   Smile

Hifi but more the music than the kit. Having said that I have just bought Feastrex drivers and for the moment have them in bass reflex boxes I built for a smaller driver. Sound good but expect the bass would be better in a bigger box but still a bookshelf as no floor space for floor standers in my office. Mostly feastrex are in large blh, quarter wave or ported box.

You are right in that this forum is mainly geared to pro-audio rather than hi-fi, although a few people here have experience with both.

Feastrex (unless someone has bought the rights to the name) I would class as niche, full-range, Japanese, artisanal, it is definitely about the kit, drive units. You have to really search for prices, which come into the catagory of if you have to ask..... I'm surprised that they actually work in some hand-me-down box. They really need an enclosure that looks like a work of art, exquisitely crafted from burr wallnut, and driven with some hand-crafted S.E.T amplifier. Then, to get the best out of them, they need to be in a large room, with wooden parquet flooring (plus Persian rug) and full wall shelving filled with vinyl records behind them.

Seriously, the DIY-Audio forum is probably a better place to ask about designs for these drive units. This forum is more about hernia inducing cabinets with 21" drive units pumping out gut wrenching bass than 5", full-range, hi-fi, drive units.

Yeah definitely not a hifi forum with all the associated nonsense and snake oil. Pro audio, no nonsense, getting the job done.
