Good tutorial for very old plans. Shame to waste all that ply on 15" scoops "In my opinion".

Like the bit where he say's "very nice grill" LOLLOL

Maybe we should have online plans for large/small chamber 18" Supers, just to be
arrogant about being the best speaker plans site.Embarrassed

aww, i really like the cloth grills! the brown sets of the colour of the ply nicely, horses for courses i suppose. i was particulalrly intersted to see mention of treating the horns as a transmission line and damping the path. funnily enough i was chatting to someone about it only this weekend. anyone had a go at this?

good point joseph, it'd be lovely to have a 15" plan. the 15" is in many ways a bit more of an all-rounder, sounding better for most kinds of dance music than their bigger drivered cousins. not sure we're likely to see one from rog though, perhaps you might like to tackle the beast yourself?...

I built a pair of these a few years ago to use in the basment of my home for the kids to have a small "club" systems for parties. I loaded them with a copy of the JBL2226 that I got somewhere and while they were OK they never were what I thought they should be. I lost a driver over the weekend, any suggestions on a driver for these. (I live in the US) and use a Crown XLS-602 to power them. Thanks in advance
Mike
wish I would have found this site before I built those :)

Haha oh yes Dancetech the place where it all starts very wrongly

Check out this random quote from one of the "articles" pages

Try this for an evil pumpin' drum sound
From: kilo

Take your drum loop from the sampler, and try puttin it through an old guitar compressor pedal. Then compress the f**k out of it.....!!
The older and nastier the pedal, the better......
Remember you can get good effects out of old crappy gear...
All you need to know is:
Sensitivity + Power Handling - Power Compression = Max Output
