Does having feet on scoops reduce the transfer of sound to the ground, in turn reducing that earthquake effect would like to know for full testing tmrw?

I thought horns had to be within a quarter of a wavelength to couple, this probably also applies to coupling to the ground, 100Hz = 343cm  quaterwave is 85cm, so you might not even notice a difference if they're half a meter off the ground,

in MY OPINION as a general rule i'd keep em as close to the ground as poss, but i assume you just mean small rubber feet, in which case i seriously doubt it would make any difference

If anyone could add to this or tell me if im right about that 1/4 wave buisness i'd be v greatfulThumbs%20Up

I know 1/4 wl applies when coupling to other horns, not sure about coupling to the ground though. Have wondered about this myself tbh. Does lifting them off the floor by a couple of CMs make a significant difference?

i have strips of 18mm ply as feet on all of my scoops to prevent cabinet wear.

it makes no difference to the sound at all.

Yep. Static Age is on it.. rubber feet will get torn off in no time when you're shuffling boxes in and out of vans etc, strips of 18mm ply are the netter option to take the battering, replaceable too..

I dont think it will make a noticable difference unless your scoops are 0.5m+ of the ground!!

actually, come to think of it, i read having a bass cab on the floor is like having two (mirror imaged) in free space, so if you had your cabs 5cm off the floor it would be same as trying to couple two cabs 10cm apart in free space,

We have heavy duty (stiff)  rubber feet here that fit into a machined in recess that have never ever failed yet, atleast with rubber the cab stays in one place

with a batton your 18mm off the floor with a rubber foot you can get closer to the groung if machined in. And its a lot quicker to change a 1 screw rubber foot.

i have the big adam hall rubber feet on alot of my cabs and they havnt failed yet - http://www.speakerplans.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=11681&PN=2

, just can be annoying if you try new "stacking patterns", but they are easily removed.
