they are indeed the C18s that died in the X1s years ago now...
I had the glass cut, drilled, rounded and toughned at a local glass place... £90inc Vat for a pair.
I kinda like the round head allen bolts...

4 bolts thru where the sping terminals would have been (now removed), long bolts... had to bend the cone slightly to get them in, but worked out ok without marking the cone.
No motors in the frames now so it's also pretty light, but the base is big enough to make it stable.
