Hello!
Wondering if any one had come across this fault with a QSC RMX2450.
Last time we used it, it worked perfectly fine, wasnt running it hard, just 2 wedges happily chugging away @ 8ohm....
Went to turn it on yesterday to fine no sound coming out of the speakers. Went over to the amps and no signal lights were on. Did the ususal checks and there was 100% a signal going into the amps. When I then turned the amps up full the clips lights began to flash slightly but still no signal lights on and a very quiet distorted sound coming out of the speakers. Checked the speakons and speakers with another idential amp and they worked fine so it defo a problem with the amp
This happend to anyone else or could anyone shed any light on a possible fault? First thoughts are something is shorting inside?!?!
Cheers

Check the ribbon cables are seated properly, both L&R signals are pre-amped on one output module then passed over to the other via a ribbon cable.
Most of the common faults on the RMX amps involve capacitors splitting open and leaking conductive treacle over the DC buses or the rail switches blowing themselves across the pcb...but this usually confines the fault to one channel or the other. |
