Look pretty solid! what you filled the gaps with? (top front corner and below the driver chamber).

It's polyurethane expanding foam.10 euros for one cylinder but it top up all.Less stress for the wood and makes it more "solid"...

I always wondered why more people don't do this. Sharp edged ports on a ported enclosure like to chuff a lot. Flaring it helps raise the ceiling of vent airspeed by a small amount, and chuffing is even then a little less noticeable you you push the limit a little more... So what about braces in horns? The air in there is vibrating back and fourth like mad and I can only imagine that sharp edges will start making at least some amount of HF 'whistling' noise.. so to speak. I like the idea! I know you probably wont hear a tiny amount of fizz from 10 feet away when the building's rattling, but every little bit helps - sound is additive! again, for example why don't more people roundover an X1's ports? I'm sure it doesn't need it, never built/heard one, but I'd do it anyways I guess. Nice build, Lots of glue, Love lots of glue :D Edited by bitcore - 21 May 2008 at 4:26pm |

a friend of mine has built a pair, he also has another two in flat pack form. i have heard them on 2 occasions now powered by a Void Infinate 8 so there was plenty of power on tap. when it comes to dance music the 1850 horn is a fantastic one box bass solution, i was very impressed with the ammount of kick & i totally agree with people who say kick bins are pointless above 1850 horns.
