H just wondered if the PH-942 horn, BM-D750 2" Ferrite CD & x2 SN-12MB ll would be a good combo in the X12? Need to know a configuration before I start to build Confused

The sn12mb is fine but I felt the bm-d750 is a bit to harsh. try looking at beyma or b&c compression drivers. those sound alot better. Try using a 1 inch or better a 1.4 inch comp driver. are you using a crossover card or running it active?

Unfortunately you can't get anywhere near the BM-D750 with Beyma or B&C 2" drivers on price.  I haven't tried the new versions of them myself yet so I can't really comment on the sound quality at the moment.

However in theory the driver combination is fine.  You could hold off on buying the horns and compression drivers because the new P.Audio horns (Ph-64,94,642,942) are all the same cut-out and mounting.  Then decide on which 1.4" or 2" you go for later.

The price is one reason for going for p-audio! For pro audio on a budget there a well known company & on a par price wise with fane & celestion! When do these new horns go on sale & where can I buy them apart from blue aran ceharden?

see if you can get a b&c de250 comp driver. if you can get one you will hear the difference in quality.Although its a one inch exit, its an execellent sounding driver. and i think they are about the same price as the p audio.why do you want to use a 2" if i may ask?

I'm going to use the 2" as I'd like to keep the X12's as my main tops as the rig gets bigger! Just building for the future really!
