hi
im in the middle of exams at the moment so cant build any cabs for at least another month i havent got any batches of punishers planned but ill ask around and see if anyone else wants some soon. 2 would be possible but probably wouldnt be the best value for money, i really prefer to build in quantity xtro's wise you're definitely in luck we're building about 12 for ourselves (loophole disjunkt and abacus) very soon and it wouldnt be too hard at all to tag some more onto the build. if people are ready to order the drivers at the same time we'll save even more money on bulk discounts... need to talk to nick about pricing and such cos its not just my build - will be very reasonable though cos we're making so many. if anyone is interested let me know cheers joe |

Hello, If you are building that much X-tro's I think it should be possible to get serious discount on the drivers. In that case I would recommend to use the original drivers (at least for mids and highs). These B&C components offer great sound for the money! Otherwise it might be an idea to build one X-tro first, load it with drivers and listen. Sound is very personal and the X-tro might sound to clean (to much hifi like) for your taste. If you want a more prominent treble you can choose another 1" (or bigger) driver. Best regards, Walt |

hi walt
yup, absolutely we'll be using the original drivers throughout - i think we'll only have the cash for 6 sets ourselves immediately but there should still be some discount. hifi subtlety is the way foward mate - unfortunately all too uncommon amongst DIY designs. i really like the de500s - havent heard the beyma horn but am prepared to take a little leap of faith! ;) ill try and get you some build photos... cheers joe |

Hello, Yes the B&C DE-500 HF-drivers are very nice, the have very neutral top-end. The 8" B&C also is a fine driver. Very suited to drive the midhorn. For the double 15" there are multiple options. One important aspect to take a look at is the physical depth of the driver. Since the rearchamber is rather small not all drivers (ferrite magnet) will fit. The original 18sound drivers have a small neodymium magnet. I think in your party scene people are used to big and heavey cabinet. Still I would try to use neo for the 15" to save some weight. But it all depend on what you can get yout hands on, and of course, the budget. Best regards, Walt |
