I currently use Robe 575xt and Charuvet 575 spot moving heads, a few moving head washes and a single laser but would like to add a couple of powerful scanners. I have used 4 * Martin 812s but it's not bright enough. Can someone suggest any other scans that are brighter, i have read good reviews about Clay Paky mini scans and Martin wizard extreme any thoughts on these also if anyone have any good ones for sale please PM me as well.

I'm not sure why you are asking about high powered scanners and then go on to list 2 fixtures which are (respectively) a) lower power lamp than your existing fixtures and b) not a scanner

So, on the basis you want a 'higher' power scanner, look at things like Cyber lights and Robe 1200xt's

If you fancy a drive to Cornwall there are 4 Robe 1200 xts on ebay at the moment for the second time around (£999 starting bid)

Robe's are a monster in term of weight compared to Charvert, the reason i like the scanners is they can be used on smaller jobs and on bigger jobs they just give a different variety. The 1200xt are in deed powerful and bright but they weigh a ton.

The Robe 575xt scans are surprisingly bright, fast and yet can be smooth when moving slow. Have seen them go for as little as £300 a unit on ebay, although they are few and far between. Still heavy mind, and the yoke is particularly flimsy and rubbish

Compared to how much the moving heads go for the scanner is almost half the price. Will add these to my list

If you are after cheap and cheerful, check the Futurelight DJ scan 575/600 (same unit, cosmetic upgrade) Kick Mac500 for brightness, but not so feature rich. Depends what you use them for.
I picked up some new for <£300 each

That's a very good price, just googling it looks like they go for around £450.

hey guys, sorry to join the conversation a bit late.

I'm after 4 575w scans, anyone got any for sale or know of some going 2nd hand?

Norty303, where did you pick up those Futurelight scans for £300 each? I would definitely be interested in those as I can only find them on Thomann for like £468.

cheers,
Dave
